A big change is coming.
Colleges are quickly dropping their SAT and essay that is ACT for candidates, with training specialists saying the compositions “have never ever been of much usage” together with organizations suggesting that their additional expense prevented poorer pupils from using.
Brown University ditched the necessity on Wednesday, which makes it the final Ivy League college to take action and making just 21 colleges that demand the essays, based on the Princeton Review. Two extra universities may also be considering dropping their SAT and ACT essay needs.
“The brief test essays test-takers produce within the ACT or SAT have not been of much use within the larger training admissions procedure,” National Center for Fair & Open Testing Public Education Director Bob Schaeffer told TheDCNF. The group, also called FairTest, supports test-optional university admissions.
